Hold on to your breath as OnePlus 5, the most anticipated smartphone of the year, is about to launch this summer. The company has confirmed that the successor of OnePlus 3T will commence with its latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. Consequently,Samsung and every other Android phone maker might be in trouble.
Chipmaker Qualcomm has announced its next flagship chip, i.e. the Snapdragon 835. Given that this year’s high-end smartphones are going to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, the OnePlus 5 will also hit the market with the same processor.
According to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, the company had chosen the Snapdragon 835 for its powerful, smooth, and efficient performance. And, they went through great lengths to optimize its OxygenOS software in order to ensure that everything will look smooth.

As we know that the specs are not enough to know about the phone. Though it’s possible to have the same specs of the two phones like RAM, processor, storage, or might be the camera image sensor; the performance level of the phones varies as the software connected to all the components differs.
As per the reports, Lau mentioned that the company wanted to improve in many areas and one such area was touch latency. They’ve used a special high speed camera to measure input speeds and to track screen movements. Consequently, the apps respond quickly to your touch to give you a better user experience.
The company confirmed the use of chipset but has not provided other official details for the OnePlus 5. There have been many rumors and leaks, most of which confirmed the OnePlus 5’s specs you might have heard before. One of the rumors claims that the phone will fix the headphone jack. However, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei responded with a tweet when someone asked where the headphone jack went.

But it sounds like OnePlus 5 might be having a headphone jack. However, headphone jack will be placed at the top of the device instead of placing at the bottom of the phone.
For now, no other details about the smartphone are known. The smartphone will reportedly come with an all-metal body with dimensions that will be identical to the OnePlus 3T. Along with that, it will most likely to have a 64GB of internal storage with microSD card slot, 8GB of RAM, an upgraded 5.5-inch Quad HD screen with a colossal 4,000mAh battery.
According to sources, the smartphone will also include a 16MP selfie camera and a 23-megapixel rear camera. The reports mentioned nothing about the dual camera setup on the back, but it is still in the limelight.
Due to the last year’s success of OnePlus 3 and 3T, OnePlus is flying high in the sky and could not ask for a better cult-like flowing. It is to be expected that OnePlus 5 will cost more than the 3T, which costs $439 unlocked. And it should be less than the $700+ competitors like LG and Samsung charge for their 2017 flagships.
